H22A rebuild
I'm preparing to overhaul my H22A block. The markings on the block are 44444. The crank only marking is 13 on the journal closest to the pulley end. I triple checked. The rods are all stamped 2K across the halves. The rod caps are all marked PT3 83. It's a 1991 P13 JDM block closed deck. Could anyone tell me what color main bearings it should be carrying and conrod bearings? Much appreciated.
1991 Prelude VTEC was purchased with engine at 5 years old and I don't believe it was ever open.

Thanks alot kulrevon. I appreciate it. I'm in Barbados so picking up a helms manual isn't easy. I'll try to get one when I'm in Miami next month. By the way I hope I can hold on to my fairies. lol.

I don't think you can buy it in stores so don't get your hopes up about getting one in miami. This is the place to get it: http://www.helmsinc.com . There are usuallly some for sale on here in the classifieds.

Don't count on it.

I'm embarassed. The numbers and letters are on the crank. You have to look so damn close and I had to use some solvent in those areas to show up the numbers and letters. It's more of a stamp than an impression. Don't use a wire brush on those areas. I'm now convinced that all JDM cranks have the markings just look close guys. They are several threads on here where guys said they were no markings. Gonna create a separate thread with this note.
Anways here goes.
From timing belt side all numbers and letters:
On the block for mains: 44444
On the crankshaft for mains: 44443
On the crankshaft for rod: CCCC
On the Rod numbers: 2222 there is also a K on each rod what's that for?
So I'm looking at 9 browns and one green for the crank and 8 greens for the rods? Someone please confirm that I read the chart correct. Thanks again guys. I will also use plastic guage when they arrive.

It looks like you read everything correctly.
I know someone who works at Honda. and he has told me that almost all the time if they do a rebuild they just buy all greens because they are the middle size. But I know this is not the correct way to do it. But because of time restraints they just order them before the motor is out.
Let me know how the plastigauge works out. I have never done the plastigauge after choosing the bearings with the honda coding.

it wouldn't have been bad. Its just the way Honda does things they are **** retentive and thats why there motors last so long. Non factory rebuild bearings do not have the different sizes like Honda does and most people get by fine with those.
most other car manufacturers especially the American v8 guys don't have the sort of tight clearances for there bearings like Honda does.
Thats why I love stock bottom ends because I don't want to let the fairies out.
