Default gsr tranny

i was debating on keeping my gsr tranny or getting a type r tranny. do you guys think i should just get a lsd and a 4.785 final drive on my gsr or just get the, jdm type r tranny

Once you pay for the LSD and FD, you might just be better getting the assembled 98+ JDM ITR transmission with the 4.785:1 already in it. You can then sell you GSR transmission.

or you could just do the lsd install and get a little better gas mileage and keep your tranny. going for all motor or boost? you dont need the higher final from the R tranny if your running boost, 4.400 is just fine for that app. if your going motor yeah it would help so just get an R tranny

doesnt the b16 tranny have a bit shorter gearing?

depends on your budget (like dogginator alluded to) and the type of gearing you want. if you go with installing the LSD in your GSR tranny, that's an opportunity for you to install the exact gears you want. if you want to go with the less costly of the two options and just want a kick *** tranny with short gears, lsd, and great FD, buy the JDM tranny and sell your GSR one. that's a no brainer.

i agree get the short gears with the itr tranny i did and love it
