Default Car sputters and hesitates after racing tonight.

I got a base map for my Hondata S300 that was suppose to be simular to my old chrome map that was tuned and worked very well. I went to the track tonight, set my 2step for 5200, but because of the track conditions I had to move it at 4000 rpms. When I let go the clutch and the car reaches 5200 rpms it sputters and hesitated until about 6500 when it clears up and drives normal. I disabled the 2step and it doesn't sputter as bad, but it still does it alittle. what could be causing this. The car drive on the road ok unless I start from a lower rpm and press, then it sputters slightly. Between the last time I raced the car, without problems, and tonight, I have installed a Hondata S300 and MSD spark plug leads. What could be causing my problem?

sounds like a fuel problem, when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? check for leaks around and along the fuel rail.

Running it on a basemap versus a tune.

I is not suppose to be a basemap. I asked ofr the exact same copy of my tuned map be transfered from my Crome program to my Hondata program.

if you know both programs then you would have realized that that is not really possible.

they probably got it "close" to the old setup, but im sure there are still some areas that need to be worked out with a wideband

I inspected my plugs and number 3 plug lead was white upon pulling it of the spark plug. When I looked down the chamber for the plug, that one was white as snow from top to where the treading starts. It was also slack. would this cause my problem

need to get it tuned , crome and hondata are not the same. you can't transfer it over ,you may have or you may be hurting your engine

Get it tuned before you make a WTB post for a engine.

I think that I found the culprit . The white one was not fully tightened.

i've seen plugs sometimes back themselves out with the combination of high compression and rpm. maybe thats what happened.

I changed the plugs, took it for a drive and it is still sputtering. But I noticed now that I have the time to look at the speedo that it is sputtering only when vtec engages.

Post your pics of your S300 VTEC fuel and timing maps in 3D and in tabular form.

Okay the shape of the curves looks good.

1. Fuel numbers are on the high side for stock injectors. Your highest numbers (with no fuel trim) should be around 820 to 840 for a 1.8L.

2. Verify that you have 18-19 BTDC at idle. You can bump up to 20 BTDC and the car should run better.

The sputtering occurs at vtec engagement 5500rpms, not at idle.

1. What is the fuel trim %?

2. Verification of idle timing assures that you are running the timing you intend to, for all parts of the maps.

Do you still have the ecu with your old crome tune loaded onto it?
