Alright im gettin my seal replaced cuz my gsr smokes really bad in vtec and i was just wondering if replacing the seal would give my car a better time at tha track cuz i feel like my car should run faster then 14.5.... and i got ctr piston with crower springs and retainers and crower intake camshaft and ctr exhaust camshaft and aem cams and slightly port and polished head.... I think the smoke is bogging my car down what do u honda ppl think?

 

valve seals or rings just wear and tear.. and valve adjustment.. 14.5 sounds about right tho depending on the setup..

 

I was running 14.1 (bad suspension, slightly worn tires, 3rd gear grind) with a 96 spec ITR in a 92 hatch.

I believe you can get in the high 13's with your setup.

 

so im jus wondering will it make a bigger difference i mean a better TRACK time if he gets his valve seals fixed?? im curious bump for my partner

 

Smoking in vtec generally means your rings are worn, which is more than likely your problem.

 

hrm even if i checked the compression...? Each piston came out to be around 270-260 psi.... Still bad rings?
