Default CatBack or just muffler??

i have a bone stock 00 civic ex and i want to add a little something to the back. Im still in High School and short on money. Pretty new to the Honda scene and i was wondering if just installing a Magnaflow muffler would change the sound of my car rather than buying a whole catback for like 500??

Quite simply it will -- but don't expect ANY performance gains from the mod.

Meh, I don't mean to be blunt, but it's a Honda.... a loud exhaust will sound like ***.

Then save your money. If you are short on money you should quickly learn the difference between wants and needs. A loud exhaust on your car would be the former. If I were you I would save that money for a day when you really need it.

cheers.

Save your money.

You have a bone stock car and adding a muffler will do nothing for you except 2 things:

1. Waste of money
2. Make your car sound like ***

To me, there's no benefit. If anything, get some springs or coilovers.

ive heard those magnaflows you pictured are actually pretty low toned. you know sometimes i get upset when someone says that they are in highschool, and all anyone says is to save your money... yes it may be a good idea, but why must everyone on this sight parent them? being 16+ they should be mature enough to make their own choices with what they want to do with their money. no matter what any of us say, kids in highschool are always going to spend it on something stupid, wheather it be investing in their car, stereo, cloths, cds or what have you. now with this being a TECH sight, why not just answer the question that was asked?

/rant

but if you want a cheap exaust, buy a decent muffler, and have an exaust shop bend it. it will be between 100-200 depends on what you get. personally i would try to find an axle back kit, then pick up a decent midpipe later down the road.

We're not "parenting" him. We're guiding him in the right direction so he gets the most out of his money. If he wants to take our advice, great. If he doesn't, that's his choice. What's wrong with that?

just get the muffler. I have a MagnaFlow and it sounds decent. Low tone but not attention grabbing.
