Default Resizing rods ?

I am building my ls/vtec i have installed arp rod studs. I was going to get my bearing from honda, because i could pick what color bearings i wanted to get the correct clearance. The guy doing my machine work said when he resizes my rods he could use acl bearings and his sunnen honing machine machine to get the clearances i want. i was told if i need more clearance he could take a little out of the rods to get the clearance i want. is this true or not a good way to do it

Listen to your machine guy. I did the exact same thing. Bought ACL race bearings and they were all w/in spec!

Either have him measure the rod journals or give him the crank codes to help him guage the hone sizes.
