Advice on motor pick. It's a 2 part question.
I have a 90 LX with a smokey motor with only 93K on it...I don't know why, I have low compression in cylinder #2 and a rebuilt head so I am convinced it's the rings and I know besides a rebuild there is not much to do...I don't know, maybe there is some thing to do..if there is tell me.
I hope to install a new motor soon, but I would like some advice on the right motor for me and my car. I have a great set of tools and have worked on cars in the past(old school stuff) but I don't want to deal with alot of tech stuff ether. Somthing with a little more power but nothing crazy...that I can bolt in and not get too complicaed....thanks and when you have time let me know or maybe you can point me in the direction of some one who can help.

It's to hard to tell you what engine to get. What are your plans, do you just want to dd and get good gas or maybe you plan on making a track car, use the search and finds specs on different enignes, it all comes down to time and money to bolt up throw a d16 or d15 if you just wanto bolt on swap.go to hmotorsonline.com to search different enignes
Cool thanks......I'm clueless on motor swaps...I want a little more power but with good gas and reliablity. I don't know what will bolt up...I figured I have a d15b2 motor...will the VTEC d15 motor bolt right up and can I use the same wiring and ecu...like I said I have no idea....call me a caveman but I'm used to small block Chevy's.
Any D series, Vtec or not, will bolt right in. The sky is the limit, along with your pocketbook.
Read as much as you can up in the FAQ, there are answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet in there.
Then come back and ask more with what you don't learn in the FAQ.
Trust me, all you need is up there, and then we can point you in the right direction.
