When i shift it is so stiff and not smooth at all and i just flush the oil but its still like that. Where can i get a new transmission for my 98 integra ls and how much you think it will cost me

 

You may not need a new tranny. Does this happen in all gears? If so, it could be that the clutch is about to go.

 

it happens in all gears. it stiff and not smooth at all. How do i know when i need to change my clutch. does a bad cluth make the shifter stiff?

 

look up under the dash on the driver side of your car... Look at the clutch pedal and trace it up... you will see a rod connected to your clutch pedal, that runs from the pedal to your firewall... look at this area and see if you see any fluid that looks like oil, if you do indeed see some fluid you need a new clutch master cylinder... When these go out they make it hard to get in and out of gear, especially 1st gear and reverse...

 

yeah it is first and rev. that is hard to shift? so its better just getting a new clutch then huh? What do you think of the CLUTCH MASTERS clutch? And i know this is a noob question but ill rather ask to know is the 98 integra ls a push clutch or Hydraulic Clutch?

i like my exedy stage 2 clutch pretty well...look into that also

 

i took it to the shop today and they said it has a internal problem. so i guess i need to rebuild it or just buy a used one
