Default B18C Starting Prob

Swapped in the B18C, also did the auto to manual swap. Hooked everything up, turned the key and nothing. Didnt turn over or anything. Checked the wiring that the walkthrough explains on how to make it so your car thinks its in park. Nothing. Checked to Pos. terminal and wire that goes to the starter. Nothing. any ideas?

battery charged? if you know that your starters good then. Might be needing a new dizzy check spark.

try jump it. place a wire on the starter and on the negative on the battery. leave key on on postition.

its almost like when you try and start a car wihtout putting the clutch in. its not turning over or anything. My battery is good or atleast it better be, I've been playing xbox in the car thinking about wtf is wrong. It's an optima...

Wiring!

Now this is pretty easy, but then again i love electrical. But all you need to do is connect 5 wires total. One of the plugs that you disconnected from the auto shifter is a 14P plug. Cut the plug off. Your going to have a 2 thick blk wires and 1 blk/blu wire, Solder those 3 together. Those together lets your car think its in park and releases the key and starts your car. Important

Sadly i couldnt figure out the Cruise control but i believe because the car thinks its in park to get the key and start it wont allow you cruise control. But if you want to know your Cruise control wire its a pink wire. To wire in the clutch safty switch run the 2 black wires to your safty switch and with the clutch pressed it should make a complete circuit and allow you to start your car.

did the clutch safety switch wiring. Turned the key to try and start it and poof, my idiot lights on the dash went off, no fuel pump noise, no headunit power. It still has that annoying beep that lets me know my key is in the ignition.. any ideas?

Poof that means you need to stop messing with wiring it dosnt love you back lol

I helped did an auto to manual swap for an 4Dr EG and everything went well except we took out the sensor where you can start the car without pushing in the clutch because was lazy to bypass it with wiring thinking it was in park.

And what did you do for this safety switch wiring? You can't simply hook some wires together, as you need a knowledge of relays to get it to work. Otherwise, as I would guess, you blew one of the 20 or 30 amp fuses (forget which one) in your fuse box. Pretty easy to see which one, though. Replace that and get rid of the "safety switch wiring." Just make a habit of clutch in when you crank it.

Assuming you did the wiring correctly to fool the car into thinking it's in park... you can tell if your starter is good by grounding the body of the starter and touching a lead from the battery's + terminal to the crank switch. The starter has 2 posts and the crank switch is the smaller of the two. Be careful, as this area moves a lot of current for the starter to provide enough torque.

If the starter turns the engine over then, check your grounds. Btw, by "hot wiring" the starter, you did have it grounded right? If so then your starter is bad and that needs to be replaced. If not, ground it first and try again

I've already checked the spark.. Not getting any spark from the wire to the plug. How do I check my Distributor to see why its not giving spark?

there was some corrosion on the flint on the rotor and the flints on the distributor cap. cleaned them up a little with a wire brush and I'm getting spark now.. still wont start tho, I think its flooded right now.
