Default Bought Alpine SPR-17c Speakers, whats a good mp3 deck to purchase for an 06 rsx base

Sup guys .. I just replaced my stock speakers with Alpine SPR-17C speakers. I noticed a dramatic change in sound. My speakers actually produce bass now heh. Anyway, the stock cd player is terrible in my RSX. It fries up cd's after a few days, as in literally destroys them. It also overheats all the time and skips a lot. So basically what I need to know is what cd player / mp3 player would be a good option to match my speakers?

Also does getting a new cd player increase the watts at all ? Eitehr way I have to get a new cd player because my stock one was replaced twice already and the 3rd one is having the same problems..

Let me know, and sorry for not knowing a lot, but I'm new to audio.

your best bet would be running an amplifier. those speakers are 100W RMS so to get the ful potential and life out of them run the maximum RMS. i recomend the Alpine MRP-F550 its 90w x 4 so it should be just about perfect for your system.

i know you have had prolems with the stock one, but i say if itsunder warranty still get another stock one for now until you decide what deck you want. I also recomend just about any alpine deck. they look sick and sound crispy as hell and have lots of features to tune your system.

Also as mentioned, an amp would be a good idea, although any of the Alpine HUs would drive the speakers, and assuming they have been properly installed, very well, and you would notice a pretty big diff. in SQ, [better bass] and overall SPL, but nothing like the diff. there would be if an amp was added.

Which amp will depend on a few things, starting with, did you replace just the front speakers, or front and rear?
Do you even have rear speakers, if so, are they stock? 94

very good to know .. Yeah all speakers were replaced ... So pretty much any alpine deck will be better than the stock rsx cd player ? I know the stock cd player blows , but will having the same model (alpine) cd player with the speakers actually make it better?

My main reason for purchasing an mp3 deck is the obvious perk of having like 5 times the amount of songs per cd, instead of burning a new one every few days. I know this is pretty newbish but I don't really know anything about audio in cars, I just know buying those speakers actually makes it sound like I have music in the car lol.

So yeah post up your input and thanks for all the advice thus far

Although the speakers are very important for SQ, it is the source, [CD player] that determines how the speakers will sound, and although you do not need an Alpine HU to drive the speakers properly, any good HU can do the job, even if you add an amp the quality of the source is still very importent, then the quality of the amp(s) then the speakers.

Pioneer and Eclipse both make HU I would recommend, and if money is no object McIntosh... http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/mc...MX406 ugly, but a very good HU, you will also need an amp. 94

Word. That is the best sounding HU I've ever heard.

it's not alpine but i would recommend a pioneer premier. The DEH-P400UB is a good deck. So is the DEH-P500UB. Reason I recommend them is I used to have the DEH-P690UB. Sounded great and everything but one feature that set it aside from the rest was the USB capability. You can put all your songs on a jump drive or have an SD card usb adapter and just hold a bunch of SD cards.

Alpines compatability for certain file types does not compare to pioneers in my experience. Also, for 08 the 400 has usb, the 500, and the 600. (before only the 690 and up had usb). They also added a rear aux input so if u want u can have 1 usb cord and 1 3.5mm headphone jack incase u have friends that got mp3 players other than an ipod. If you want you can also hook it up to a hard drive up to 250GB and eliminate CDs and all that **** entirely.

All of them also have bluetooth capability if u get the part as well as sirius/xm support and the 600 has hd radio support. Only difference between the 3 really is the lines of text. 400 has 1 line of text, 500 has 2, 600 has 3, just making it easier to scroll through songs. Arite im rambling now, but after getting the 690, I have nothing but good things to say about the pioneer premier head units.

I actually prefer Alpine over Pioneer even though I have a Pioneer deck with amp and sub and its great. Its just that fact that Alpine decks are a bit more reliable then pioneer decks. If you do upgrade your cd player no matter whether it be alpine or pioneer you will notice the difference in SQ because when i changed out my stock speakers with Pioneer front and polk rear my SQ went way up. Also, another reason i choose alpine over pioneer is that with alpine once your up to 20-25 volume control its pretty loud and with pioneer i have to get it up to 35-40 before It can really starting bumpin.......

good to know ... so basically my stock cd player sucks a fat one and I need to get a good HU in order to really notice a difference. The ones you are suggesting look awesome but I'm also on a tight budget, so whats the cheapest good quality one yall would reccomend? On my current cd player I have to put the volume up to like 80 - 90 % before it even bumps decently lol, anything below that is just terrible.

Again thanks for all the responses!!

I would recommend a pioneer deh-2000mp which is wma,mp3 capable and is about $100 on crutchfield or an alpine cda-9881 which i dont remember what the price is but has the same capabilities as the pioneer and makes a great quality radio even on a tight budget...........IMO..........
