Default Buy another R?

My old R was stolen and gutted by theives

Would you replace it with another R? Everyone is telling me to get something safe and practical. I'm starting to get brainwashed by telling me that, but my love for the R is strong. I don't think I can settle for anything less than another R. I would get the best alarm and layer the security if I got a new one. I hope my insurance won't jump up too much also if I get another one

Hmmm, I'd probably wait awhile. Since you have a garage I'd normally say go for it, just don't leave it parked outside. Unfortunately those POS thieves were brazen enough to break into your garage (the #1 security layer) to steal heR. If they are willing to that, they'll go to any lengths to grab another R, maybe carjack at gunpoint or use a tow truck. They're probably keeping an eye out to see what you replace heR with. Chicago has just been too hot lately. I'm sure you'll be back eventually

I would buy a beater for now and save. Such a shame that theives ruin it for decent people, not to mention jack up our insurance premiums among other things.

Depending on how much you're looking to spend, there are plenty of viable and less prone to theft cars you can buy in the ITR's price range.

You can pick up a base '08 Mazdaspeed3 or Civic SI just below 20 grand, and, both cars are fun in their own way. Plus no salivating lowlives looking at you every time you drive your freakin car!

Get another and just be more cautious. Its all you can do. Don't let thieves sway your interest. Just make sure you have full coverage

Can you give more details on when, and how it was stolen, from where?

Seems like Chicago has had at least 2 R thefts in the last 2 months, 1 from a garage, I probably wouldn't get another one if I were in your situation.

you could put an alarm on the garage with motion sensors and a padlock on the garage door track so that they can't even open the garage, I would get another one and just beef up security
