Default 2 project cars i picked up for very little moolah (non honda)

So some of you may remember a while back the DSM i picked up for free and made it solidly into the 12's with less than $1000 including the engine rebuild.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1499204

So i figured it was time to give myself another project car...or cars.

The first car i got i paid $500 for. It has a P&P head with 1mm oversize valves, dual springs, retainers. the bottom end was rebuilt with oem parts less than 6k ago. and it is complete, the car just wouldnt run right.

So in the middle of workin on it, another car came into view for very cheap that had some mods, but a siezed motor. So i was like screw it and went and picked it up as well. So as i sit right now im about $1100 into both these cars and will be able to make one good car and over half way to making a second. So what do ya guys think?

And none of that crap about how unreliable dsm's are. That car in the link above was one of the most reliable cars ive ever owned and the black car is my 46th car since ive turned 16 years old.

The first one i bought

and the most recent addition.

1st UPDATE:

Well, got the motor out and its absolutly disgusting. And their were alot of shortcuts taken the last time it was put together. The motor seized because the oil filter came loose and lost all the oil, which also means the turbo seized too. So now i gotta get one of those (anyone?).

And enough pipng to bring oil from Alaska

Every car on the list has been MY CAR. They've been in my name.

DSM's only break when general upkeep is neglected. Its not a honda that you can just just neglect it and its gonna keep going. If taken care os properly, they can be very good and reliable cars.

x2, usually its the owners that associate with the type of car that gives that car a bad reputation. Any car, with good upkeep will last a long time.
