ITR big brake conversion finished
Just finished my ITR big brake conversion with slotted rotors and hawk pads on my 90 hatch. I almost was thrown thru the windshield a couple times on my test drives. WoW!! It feels great I had to research like hell to get eveything together right the first time. Heres the parts list:
aftermarket new replacement T25 ITR caliper brackets I bought off e-gay
remanufactured ITR calipers from the local auto parts store
93-96 Prelude VTEC rotors redrilled to 4X100 from fastbrakes
ITR brake pads
90-93 DA non ABS booster and master
the ultra rare Civic 4dr EX knuckles
The Civic 4dr EX knuckles were a sweet come up, I was gonna use DA knuckles, in fact I had a set and then I came up on the EX knuckles and sold em after wasting a bunch of time at the junk yard pulling them on a 90 degree day. I compared them to the EX knuckles when I had both and there was a tiny difference. I can tell by looking and comparing they would have worked if you wanted to spend the time getting the geometry right.
The caliper brackets had to be machined down 2-3mm on the back side where they bolt to the knuckle for everything to fit correctly. You must have at least 15'' wheels for everything to fit I have 16'' wheels and it looked like a close fit.

circled is the back of the knuckle and caliper bracket. the back of the caliper bracket is shaved 2-3mm for proper fit

stock master & booster

DA master & booster installed

EX knuckle casting left side stamp ID

EX knuckle casting right side stamp ID

It wasnt all that much work, I finished in about 6 hours, the booster bolts are a bitch to get to up on the firewall behind the pedal assembly. A couple runs to the auto parts store and my passenger side CV shaft coming apart in two pieces when I removed the knuckle slowed me down some. Definitely worth the time!
