Default Minor problem: Temperature guage is WAY off. Any ideas?

I just recently had overheating problems and now I have a new cooling fan motor, new thermostat, new relay, and a new fan switch. No more overheating problems. However, my temperature gauge now reads near the red for normal operating temperature. Any ideas on what is causing it? Oh, by the way, I have a DX Civic w/ Si gauges because I wanted a tach. All the other gauges work fine and I know its not that big of a deal, but I like everything to be working on my car.

Did you tamper with the needles?

yeah i'm going with the gauge needle has been tampered with....when the engine is completely cool, does the gauge go all the way down?

If you messed with the needle in anyway, they might not be inline. Also another thing is i have notice on some cluster swaps is the the needles get alittle stuck sometimes, so when you attempt to line them up, its stuck at a point, then it will budge and be way off. Try reseting the ecu, sometimes that works as well.

In some minor occassions, even if the needle goes all the way down, doesnt mean the needle HASNT been tampered with. I guess we just have to await his answer.

Alright guys, well the deal is the gauge was working find until recently, so it hasn't been tampered with. This really has me puzzled.

I should have thought of this earlier but I'm going to try another gauge cluster. I'll let you guys know if it works when I do that.

Alright I finally got around to swapping the gauge cluster back to stock and it still reads really hot, although I know the car is now cooling properly. What could cause this problem? Maybe I should reset the ECU?? This has me puzzled - I need a few .

maybe the car isn't actually cooling properly..i've never heard of an ECU setting off a temp gauge improperly. how are you assured that it's cooling efficiently? i would triple check everything one more time...you don't want a car running hot when you assume it's running properly! that brings on the bad news bears
