i need help!!!
hi ok i have a d16z6 with a AEM cold air intake, DC sport 4-2-1 headers, Gready exhaust, no ac & ps plus the frame has been lightened. i had herd from some one before that if i take the crank shaft and cam shaft out of a d15 engine and put it in the d16z6 that it will boost up my horse power. i was wondering if thats true and what i would have to go through to do it. and i was wondering what else i can do to make this thing scream.
No, the crankshaft isn't even compatible with your engine. "Some one" is bullshitting you.
Options for a d-series engine "to make this thing scream":
1) turbocharge it
2) nitrous oxide
3) a big cam, lots of compression, and well-designed manifolding

What do you mean? The coil alone will make his car super fast?

not super fast, but when i did mine i did an msd cap, rotor and external blaster 2 coil. it was a hell of a difference. alot more than i was hopping to get to be honest. its not gonna be like bolting in a turbo but hell it was cheap and worth it. honda ignition coils are notoriously weak.

Eh, the coils are fine unless it's a very serious build. An external coil won't make much difference unless there was a problem with the original ignition system (worn parts, etc.).

well it made me happy. my oem coil only has about 115k on it. for what i spent i was pleased. better than wasting money on some else. my motor isnt too done up so i didnt do an ignition control box or anything. just the coil and cap.
what I heard done was the internals out of GX(natural gas) model swapped into a single cam block... That jacked the compression way up... As I recall, the car went all motor... It seemed to be a sweet way to do a cheap build...
ok so some one tell me exactly what to get to make that engine go as fast as it can go minus the things that are already upgraded

where do you want to start. theres a lot of ****
intake mani
cam
cam gear
ignition
pistons
rods
nitrous
turbo
throttle body
its not what parts you have, its how they work together. like on your set-up an intake mani or cam gear would do nothing unless you have a matching part like throttle body or cam. and if you do an intake mani and t-b youve added more air, so now you need to add more fuel and a tune. do some research.

your trying to tell me that an oem t-b compared to a 68mm aftermarket t-b with a matching 68mm intake mani opening doesnt change the amount of air that can come in?

Right. It just lowers the air velocity.
