itr/type r lug nuts....???
Need some new lugs for my type r. Got USDM 15'' CW type r wheels, will rays or work lugnuts fit/work??? Evasive says that rays only works with after market wheels but i see plenty of pics on forums that people are using aftermarket lugs on stock wheels. If these dont work, which ones will? Any info will help. Thanks in advance...
itr's r oem wheels which means oem ones will work. that being sed. any rims thats uses oem lugs should b able to use any other lugs nuts as long as the thread is the same.
actually rays lugs nuts and all other after market lug nuts are tapered/conical/cone shaped and OEM wheels only accept ball/radius/spherical lug nuts which are OEM lug nuts.
although you can use them but it is extremely unsafe.
If you want colored lug nuts that bad i think kragens and such have some with a ball/radius/spherical end.

Yeah i didnt think that rays/work/spoon lugs would work. I dont necessarily want colored ones, athough i dont know what the current price is of the OEM lugs, ive read past threads where lugs were $6 a piece. So i figured why not get some cool looking ones for the same price? Thanks for the info. Ill just get some OEM lugs to play it safe.

If you want to save money, you can get chrome-finish lug nuts with the ball-shaped seating area you need at Autozone (and other auto parts stores) for a little over a buck apiece.
If you're willing to spend more and you want black ones, see the FAQ for the part number of NSX lug nuts.

Well I looked around in my garage and came across some Gorilla lugs. They are some nice chrome ones. They look much different than the stock ones however, how do i know if these will work/safe to use? It says right on the package that they are 12x1.5mm. I believe these fit all hondas/acuras. The only reason why im questioning them is because they are not your conventional 6 sided-hexagon shaped lug. They look something like this. Will these work!?

It depends on the wheels, not the car. More specifically, it depends on the shape of the seating area, the bottom part of the lug nut that comes into contact with the wheel. Look at the photo below and compare that part of the lug nut. The Gorilla lug nuts probably have a tapered "cone seat", not the ball-shaped "radius seat" that Honda/Acura wheels need.
Why is it such a problem for you to go to your local auto parts store and buy a set of the right lug nuts for your car for $20-30, to keep your wheels from falling off?

I dont feel like going to spend money on lugs that i may alreaddy have. But the gorilla lugs that i have do look somewhat like the "cone seat." Plus i heard that the cheap ones from the local auto parts stores rust real fast...Besides NSX lug nuts which other ones will work that arent a total piece of ****...
i also went down to the local advanced auto parts store and all the lugs for sale were tapred ends. Didnt specify which ends i needed, according to the book all 12x1.5 will work...

You don't already have the ball-seat lug nuts you need. You only have conical-seat lug nuts that will be unsafe and will risk working loose, bending studs, wheel coming off, etc.

That's just not true at all.
Of course, if you don't believe that, you can buy new Honda/Acura brand ones at any Honda or Acura car dealer. They'll charge you $4-7 each, vs $1-2 at Autozone. And they'll look and work exactly the same (with the same resistance to rust).

The ones at Autozone are fine. And you can get them with the ball-shaped seat.

It sounds like you only looked at the fancy ones on the shelf. Did you ask the guy to get some from behind the counter, and tell him you need the ones with the ball-shaped seat? I know at Autozone that's what you have to do.

That's because the book only tells you what the threading of the studs is. The book doesn't take into account the fact that Honda/Acura brand wheels have a ball-shaped seat and need lug nuts with a ball-shaped seat, or the fact that aftermarket wheels have a conical seat and need lug nuts with a conical seat.
