possible bad distributor?
just finished an mpfi swap. Car will not start, It just cranks. I checked and rechecked all wiring. The fuel pump primes and relay clicks. All the grounds look good. I tried setting the #1 piston at tdc and put the distributor on, still no start. Spark plugs dont seem to be sparking. I cranked the motor with the dizzy unplugged and same response as with it plugged in. Could I have a faulty dizzy? anything else I shuld check let me know. thanks
check the ground on your thermostat housing. this happened to me when i did something like this. spent 400 dollars on 2 distributors and it was one tiny ground. good luck

You should double check ALL wiring and grounds.
Once you've finished that, go back and triple check it.
After you've done that, go ahead and quadrouple check it for good measure. You don't want to go needlessly buying parts if you have a simple wiring issue.
If you haven't found any problems and are still not getting spark, check to make sure the distributor rotor is spinning. If it is, you probably have a bad ignition coil or ignitor. The coil is more common.
You did install a fresh cap and rotor on the distributor when installing, right? The plugs are less than 30,000 miles old and the wires are in good condition, right?
