I just finished installing my replica OEM SiR foglights kit which is all plug and play to your factory harness. I then added HIDS,they work great for the fog i find the color really penetrates through the fog wonderfull, works great in snow and rainy conditions.

4100K

"omg jdm" 3000k

*same placement and mount, both from the one E46 projector with a flat cut off shield*
I'd rather have "omg jdm" 3000k for aux/driving/fog lights... wait I've got amber fogs and I can see them light up the wet road better than my 5000K hid projectors...

Hey guys, for my application i used H3 style HID bulbs which fit prefectly after removing the halogen ground wire required for halogen h3.
Beleive it or not, the color is 12,000k. While the color does cut through the fog pretty nice. I have seen 3000k in real life on integra oem foglight housings, and they are suuuuper bright, they were blinding. No disrespect to 3000k but i wanted a more deeper blue look for my foglights.
