this is really annoying, sometimes when i park my car, i put on the e-brake and shift to 1st gear, even tho is on even flat ground, the thing is when i sometime turn the car back on, i forgot to shift to neutral, and of course the car would jerk and die, just wondering if this would hurt my car? thanks.

 

It's rough on your starter motor, but I dont think it hurts anything else.

 

dont you push in the clutch when you start the car??? wtf? i thought you HAVE to push in the clutch for the car to start anyways....unless you did something like me where i converted it from an automatic to standard and didnt wire up that sensor....nonetheless, i dont forget to push in the clutch to start....its a habit.

i think he means that he forgets its not in neutral and lets the clutch out right after starting.

if so its not realy bad for your car, but i wouldn't do it on a regular basis

 

hard on the motor/trans mounts because you load the crap out of them when doing that, but other than that its not gonna hurt anything.
