ATTS codes
My 98 SH threw the ATTS last night and we had the chance to pull the codes tonight.
Here they are:
79 - ATTS control inhibition
66 - Oil pressure sensor
I just bought this car this week and I'm new to Preludes let alone this ATTS stuff. Help at out a noob.

The SH prelude is a fantastic car. Welcome to the club.
There are two pressure sensors on the ATTS unit, one for each clutch assembly. There are instructions in the helms manual on how to troubleshoot the codes. For code 66, they say to clear the code and see if it comes back. Again, there are instructions in the helms manual on how to clear the codes.
Code 79 is a little more strange. It says to remove the negative battery terminal for at least 10 seconds (Make sure you have your radio security code or your radio won't work when you reconnect the battery). After you reconnect, see if you still have the code. If you do, disconnect the battery. Repeat...
Seems like a strange procedure, but that is what it says.
If the code 66 comes back, there are instructions for measuring the voltage on the atts controller connector that come from the pressure sensors. They should be about 0.5 volts with the car on but not running.
The right side sensor on my 'lude has failed (I think). I was under the car yesterday trying to see how to replace it, and I can't even see it. The left side sensor is visible from underneath, but the right side is up higher. I don't drive my prelude much so I just covered it back up for now. If I can't get at it from above I might have to remove the entire ATTS unit (which would suck). I will fix it though. My car is a '97 with 103k miles on it and this is only the second thing to go wrong with it (first was a leaky radiator). Very reliable car, and an absolute blast to drive. If you've never driven an SH model, you wouldn't understand

How many miles are on your '98? It's very possible the fluid needs to be changed in the ATTS unit. I was throwing codes randomly (particularly when cold and at low speeds) soon after I bought my '97 SH; after I changed the fluid I've never thrown a code. The older ATTS control units are also known to behave a little erratically and hence the instructions to just keep resetting them until they behave. Good luck and fun with the new car!

There's a TSB regarding Code 79. It was directed at 97 models, but yours might very well be affected.

I took it to the dealer and yes I made sure that they did. We were gonna do it ourselves but were afraid to strip the bolt
I assume you guys get it from under the car but I couldn't get good enough leverage when I tried...doh
