do i really have to use a manual ecu? because some people say you can use your at ecu
and can i use my at engine harness instead of using the mt harness?
also will the ex engine harness work on a lx motor?

1. I'd say it's not REQUIRED, but you'll probably throw a CEL for not having one.
2. Again, probably not REQUIRED, but you'll probably have excess wiring lying around that would normally go to the auto. transmission.
3. You'll have excess wiring there as well, but I think you could adapt it to work.

You'll need to disable the Immobilizer somehow.

I think you could use an immobilizer bypass that security alarm systems use for remote start but it sounds like it would be alot of work.
Probably better off just going with a manual ecu.
I had to make sure that my AT shifter was set to P before I took it out when i did the AT to MT swap with my K20a swap.
