bought a new teg today and it has the viper 479v alarm/pager...i have no clue how to use it, cant find a manual...basically i want to adjust the sensitivity, ive been smacking the hell out of it and i cant trigger the alarm, honestly i want to make sure the freakin thing is working.

 

The 479V number is the model number of your remote, not the alarm, you have either a Viper 791XV or a Viper 591XV

The 791XV is an alarm/remote start combo unit, probably what you have.
The 591XV is just a remote start unit.

Are you sure you have an alarm, does it go off if you open a door? 94

 

i was told it has an alarm, the guy was pretty adamant about it.....however, what do i know... i know it doesnt chirp when i arm it, i hear a beep coming from under the dash when i arm it, but i have yet to locate the sending unit. and when i arm it, and slam the door, nothing happens...

 

when i press panic the alarm sounds, so something must be in there. ive gotten as far as figuring out that if i press all four buttons at once, i can differentiate between illumination, vibrate, and other modes im not sure about, for example my hood, trunk icons appear/disappear on my car icon...what is that doing?
