How Do I Bypass the Heater Core?
I did a quick search, but I'm still a bit unclear about something...
I've identified the two hoses that go into the firewall. Can I just unplug the ends that go into the firewall and loop them together, or plug them up? What should I use to loop or plug the two hoses?
On a related note: those hoses are ridiculously difficult to access and remove. Any advice? What size are the hoses?
Thanks for your help.

I have a 96 Accord LX, 4 door, if that matters.
Some additional sidenotes:
I haven't used the car in about a month, and it's been parked on the street on an inclined hill. I just started it up today and pulled it into my garage, and that's when I noticed:
1) My entire driver side floorboard was soaked, and
2) Water was profusely leaking out from under my car, on the driver side.

they sell hose connections at the parts store, that will take care of the lines off the block. You can then either loop the to heater core outlet with one pice of hose or you can cap them off. Usually if its leaking on the drivers side of the motor its the water pump. It could also be the heater line, so check that first.
Old thread, but since I did this last night just want to fill in for anyone searching. Pulled out heater core. Looped hose on driver's side back to the inline valve that the dashboard controls moved. No need to cut hose, just use existing parts. Had to unbolt the valve mount from the firewall since the hose was just a bit short. I plan on using a ziptie on the loose mount so it doesn't rub on anything like the engine mount.
Will probably plug later, but this is on a track car so no rush.
