Restored some OEM 99-00 Civic headlights
So I bought a pair of 99-00 OEM Civic headlights from a friend for cheap...and they were hazy so I decided to wet sand and polish them...results came out pretty good.
***Edit:***
Here is a quick review of what I did... it is really simple and short.
1) Well first you need rubbing compound that removes swirls, you also need polish and wax, an applicator, microfiber towel, spray bottle with water, and 2000 grit wet sanding paper.
2) Take headlights off the car (if they are on your car).
3) Once the headlights are off, you can begin wet sanding.
4) Basically spray the headlight with water and start sanding it all over evenly until it is all hazy and smooth (you can tell by feeling it while it's wet).
5) Dry and clean the headlights very nicely...notice that they should be hazy.
6) Apply rubbing compound with the applicator and work it into the headlight.
7) Then wipe it off with the micro fiber towel the same way you did as you applying the compound.
8) Then apply polish and wipe it off the same way as you did with rubbing compound.
9) Then apply wax to the headlights and wipe it off.
10) I applied each product (rubbing compound, polish, wax) twice to get better results. But you can do more to also, doesn't hurt...just let the products haze up before wiping it off.
11) If the headlight is still a bit hazy after you applied the stuff, you need to keep wet sanding more, and then repeat the steps 5-10 again.
Stuff I used:

Before:

Wet sanded with 2000 grit:

End result:

yeah...I didn't expect the results I got either since I did it by hand and not a buffer...and it only took me about an hour too...about 10-15min of wet sanding per headlight...and the rest was the polishing.

I'm not sure...I think it does but I don't know.
I'm planning on selling these locally since I already have JDM SI-R's on my car.

Make it a mini write up </TD></TR></TABLE>
I mainly did this based on the "wax on wax off" procedure after I wet sanded with 2000 grit.
I used rubbing compound twice, then the polish 3 times, then wax 3 times. I just kept pressing hard into the headlight each time I was wiping the stuff off with the microfiber towel.
