Default Stock Honda/Acura CD players... interchangable?

I am planning on buying a 94 integra LS and I dont want to buy a fancy pancy stereo, but I still need to listen to CD's.

So... can I take a cd player from any car like a civic SI or Prelude SH, and just plug it into my LS?

as long as it is 98 or older you can make it work, if it is newer than 99 you can still make it work with 2 wiring harnesses ($15 each fron a stereo shop).
good luck

Just about any stereo can work in any car. The plugs may not be the same though. If you can identify the wiring on your stock plug then you can hook up one of those plug adapters and hook it up to your car. I don't think honda puts the wire color diagrams on the head units so you may have to hunt around for the color diagram.

easiest way to get color codes for a honda radio is to look at the harness color codes of the car it came from (cause those obviously were made for the deck and line up perfect)...knowing the inputs the deck requires, get an aftermarket harness (or get the color codes and slice and dice the stock one..not a good idea IMHO) then hook up the deck accordingly.

OR, you could just get a cheap $80 cd deck by alpine or kenwood (used..little older) and it will sound much better (better internal amps..still not great) and look better too!
