number 1 turbo for h22
i want to put a turbo on my prelude, i have all stock internals, for now, i wanted to see if anyone knew from experience, which turbos are the best, for not the most expensive price, also, if there is anyone on here that is located any where near baltimore md, i wanted to see if someone could help me either put the turbo on, or find someone that can help me put it on, i just dont want to have to be charged an arm and a leg to have this thing put on. I have also heard of A LOT of people that put turbos on their car, and they have it in the shop almost every week because of problems with the turbo, and thoughts on that?

^ AHAHAHHAHAHAHA
To the op I dont think you can say that theres 1 best turbo for the h22. Different people have different power goals. Not only that but every setup is different. The size of an SC61 is pretty well matched if you ask me.

do they really work though? because ive heard that they are just a scam, like those tornado fuel kit or typhoon kit, thats all crap, they say you can get better gas milage, increase up to 35hp, if they really worked, they would not be $10!! if you yourself have had great results with them, or you know someone that has had great results with it, LET ME KNOW, because **** if i can get a horse power gain without spending almost what my car is worth, and not have to have it mess something else up, then that would be awesome!!

Please read the forced induction FAQs in the F.I. forum and also the Prelude FAQs here in the Prelude forum.
From that paragraph you know absolutely zero about forced induction and very little about cars. You cannot just "put a turbo on your Prelude".

No man, I was just playin, sorry about that, figured you'd know... don't buy that hair dryer POS.
Listen to AEM94ludeh22, read the FI FAQs, be prepared to spend A LOT if you're serious about a turbo.

If you serious, you should read read read & then read some more. Look at other peoples builds, see what they've bought & gone through...
For a rough estimate, if you want to get 250-300 whp, you're probably going to end up spending $3-6k, that's w/ NO engine work. Get a compression & leakdown test done for sure to see what shape your stock engine is in first.
If you want 300+ whp, you'll start getting into beefing up your engine & you'll spend $6k-15k depending on how crazy you want to get with it. Good luck.
And w/e the hell you do, TUNE IT!!!
I'm noob 2, but I do know the ****'s not cheap. Good luck.

very good point man thanks, coming into this i wasnt thinking it was going to be such an expensive hobby to have!! i thought you know, a few hundred here a few hundred there, but i guess i gotta get a better job to support such an expensive hobby. With all the things i have done to my car now, headers, downpipe, intake, fuel rail, catback, im looking to really up my horse power, without a turbo or sc,(all motor) anyone got any suggestions on what i should do next?
