DPFI to MPFI DOHC VTEC Wiring Question
So I picked up my latest hatch a few months back and it was a rough rough shell with nothing in or on it.
It had the stock dx or std wiring harness so I had to MPFI it. I did that and I still have code 9 and 14. Im not really worried about these . My real question that i've asked before and never really had answered was dealing with my VTEC not working.
I read up on this article I found I pretty much have to make my own little sub harness for vtec to work going from DPFI to MPFI and being dual cam.
heres the link : http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/EFwiring.php
Basically I'm wondering if there is another way around this to get it hooked up.
I've been a few months without it and now im starting to get the itch bad about poppin vtec since i am supposed to have it.
Any help will be very helpful.
Thanks guys

I am pretty sure that you need to address those codes before the ECU will allow the VTEC to work. Call it a Honda safety design. I had a bad ground on my oil pressure sensor that also stopped the VTEC from working. Try to get those codes gone, check your wires, and worse case it's a physical solenoid or valvetrain problem.
what ecu are you useing.
and you do have the wires hooked up to the solenoid wired up right.

Stock PR3.
I have everything hooked up right and even made a new ground.
VTEC worked perfectly before I pulled it out of my 91 Si now that its in my DPFI to MPFI'd hatch it doesnt work at all and everything is connected perfect and straight to the ecu
thats why i was wondering if i have to make a "special" harness or way to make vtec work on a DPFI to MPFI'd harness or if it should just work if its hooked up the normal way

you say the vtec worked in your 91 si...you must have had a 4 wire harness you made for the vtec to work. did you do this in your current car?? did you have codes in the other car when vtec was working?
if it was working before it should be working now, unless something got shorted out or there is a bad wire
