Default wow....i accidently came across these caliper covers just read...

ok so i typed in ek sedan into google image search looking for the 4 door mugen kit for my little sisters car. and i stumbled onto a japanese forum and saw pictures of calipers covers that replicate brembo and spoon and endless and a bunch of different companies... being that i dont speak read or otherwise understand japanese i got curious and did some searching. sure enough these things exist... i search honda-tech in recent and archived and only found one reference to them wiht out any pictures. so here it is. ricey and fake as it is you know that a good percentage of people that buy aftermarket calipers do it for show. now im seriously on the fence about these things but they really dont look rediculously fake when installed correctly. i dont know my brain says no but its just interesting....

and now i just happened to stumble onto this... they all seem to be from like thailand and malaysia

http://www.eycatchercalipercover.com/

i dont know i just thought i would make it more public flame me if you want to.

im not trying to impress anyone, every mod done to my car has been for a purpose. it looking a certain way because of it is just a bonus

there's two types of people out there when it comes to knock off stuff.

1 the guy who buys black slips and thinks hes cool cause people might think he has spoons.

2 the guy who buys black slips becuase he needs a cheap set of light wheels for the track.

its late and i dont know where im going with this but as far as those caliper covers go =

it seems like your going in the wrong direction... i clearly admitted that there is no benefit to these things. and yes of course your not going to gain any performance but its just as stupid for someone to buy the real deal calipers and never use them for what they are meant for. spend 2grand or whatever spoon calipers cost these days and just daily driving on them is not very practical. this product would eliminate the need for people who buy the real deal calipers for looks to spend so much money if all they are looking for in the end is appearance. im glad that you took it the exact wrong way i anticipated that people would. thumbs up dude. reading owns you

some people actually rather have upgraded calipers and knowww that they have stopping power if needed. Not just because it is bling bling.

You say you're on the fence about these things, but you're arguing in their favor after every negative comment. Clearly you want them - so get them. Either way, you're not going to get the approval (which is what it seems like you want) from H-T. Just my .02¢

Two cases of idiocy don't add up to a good decision! Sure, maybe it's a waste of money in your opinion (aka dumb) to have calipers that you don't "need," but that doesn't make it any less dumb to have fakes of calipers you don't need. How about if you don't actually need the brakes, don't bother with the covers either?

Also, btw, I don't really see why it's dumb to have big brakes on a lightly driven car. It's badass stuff no matter what, and it's not like they're in limited quantities and people who will die without them can't get em. Most people own a bunch of clothes, don't they? What's the "need" for that?

Interesting....aren't real Spoon calipers $1500 or around that?

Anyway, if you like them, get em. I personally don't mind replicas like rota, but it's when people try to play them off as real( Volk sticker on Grids, etc.) This seems worse than rotas though...they not only try to use the same style logo, but it's just a cover. I don't know, do what you want.

Don't know about this. I guess if your only into the car show stuff then cool. I guess it's better then painting them? Maybe if you could buy them without spoon or the other company's. The would make a nice little show peace.

There's nothing wrong with fake calipers.

They go perfectly with your fake affection for Hondas.

I just dont see the point of rocking fake and it takes the awe out of the real b/c everyone is like are they real. Just like when I started rocking Bapes. Now everyone looks at your feet and are like real or fake. I dont spend 140-200 on bapes to get asked if they are f'in real. I do buy them b/c I like them not to get asked or comments at all. Kinda like all the Type R drivers that get asked if its a real R.
