i want to get to 300hp
ok very new to the import well everything
i want to get my 1994 vtec up to 300 hp i read somewhere that off the lot they are at 190.
i have done nothing to this car completely stock except for the speed dent that some jackass put in my door the other day. ranting sorry.
what ways are the best to get to that goal. i prefer not to turbo or super charge if i dont have to but if thats cheaper that sounds good.
help please.

there are a lot of factors involved in that. driving skill and weight just to name a few. it all depends how deep your pockets are. anything around 200 whp IMO is pretty good for an NA h22.

ok now i get to sound like a *** the NA h22 is my engine right?
then when i hear that the 94 stock is 190ho that is at the flywheel?

Ive seen more horsepower out of an h22 than you would think. Jon at Hybrid can do it but you are talking about countless hours and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to do so.In the end it all seems a waste of time when K motors are outperforming in na all around.Dont get me wrong I have built h22 but turbo and everything else I could throw in it.Please dont ask tech questions I am only a custom painter.Jon tells me what I need to beat the m5s in northern va.

Figure about a 15% loss due to drivetrain and you get your approximate hp at the wheels. If you pick some quality bolts ons and some sort of tuning you should be able to reach 200whp, providing you have a healthy motor.

yes if its a vtec model then its the h22. the 190hp is at the flywheel. generally stock h22's put down around 155-160 whp. if you click on the faq link at the top of the page, you will find a lot of useful information.

Thats not true... there are quite a few n/a h22's making over 300hp

You're not going to just "upgrade" to reach 300whp NA.
To get there or any where near, will require a completely built block.
Mild H22 builds will put out from 190whp to 220whp, nicely built from 250whp and up, all depending. For a very nice H22 NA Build, search for user "2point6." He's built multiple high HP NA H22's putting out around 270ish whp.
Stock, depending on USDM H22A1 or JDM H22A, will put out between 160whp - 180whp I'd say, all depending.
Don't listen to these kids saying it can't be done. They haven't seen it done so they assume it can't be done.

N/A?? HAHAHA $10,000-15,000 probably, to do it right!
Turbo, maybe a bit cheaper depending on how long you want the motor to last!
If money is no object you should do N/A though. Your motor would last waaaaay longer (under normal driving/maintenance conditions)

Gravila hope you have that kind of cash, lol
but anyway i read up on the h-t member 2point six he's done some amazing **** with the h22, guy took a 2.2 liter and turned it into a 2.5 (well almost

start with the basics of what to up grade first. by first i mean live level 1 not in an order.

to get anywhere near 300 hp there is a lot that needs to be done....lots of money of course...
but the first thing to do is pull your engine and completely rebuild it. for 300 hp there is no way around that going all motor.
the fastest way to 300 hp is find a good tuner, get a decent turbo kit and have the car dyno tuned and aim for most likely 8-12 psi (depending on the turbo) to get to your goal.

n/a? 300hp? it sounds like you are new the the prelude. not to be a jerk, but consider its FWD nature and how you will just plow through turns until you set up the rest of the car to handle it... spending all that money on a prelude is no joke, it might be cheaper to buy an ap1 s2000 and throw a comptech supercharger on it lol.
You are looking in the right place to learn more about your car, but consider this. The JUN prelude that is one of the fastest n/a ludes out there has been tuned and worked on for years, all sorts of parts have been designed to make the engine more n/a power, from JUN cams to exhaust. With all of this time and money invested, it still makes 270hp. This is a fast car, but consider all the time and money it will take to get there.
