Default Should I get a chipped ECU? P28? BaseMap?

I have a 2000 Civic Si with I/H/E and a CTR intake cam.. Currently has about 90k miles on it.

I am looking for a bit more power, nothing to crazy..

Is it worth getting a chipped p28 or other OBD1 ECU (+ conversion harness)?

It will run me about $150-$175 Total for both the ECU and Harness.

Is it okay if I just get a regular chipped ECU on a set base map (like CTR) or is it better to have someone like Phearable.net do it set up for my application?

About how much power does one usually see with a chipped ECU? (I'm currently running the stock P2T by the way)

a basemap is just a basemap, you may even loose power with it.
the real power comes with the tuning.

i got a p28 from phearable.net and it improved on the midrange a lot with my b16.
i would reccomend them, very fast shipping and good prices . oh the car has the usual bolt ons and i switched over from a p30.

heh he said not too much power. tuning is always better though but more expensive than just a basemap from phearable.

Bolt-ons are a waste of money on anything but an F20C, h22a, b18c1/5, or K-series motors.. I know I've been there and done that -- forced induction is the way to go.

I would like to do a JRSC but don't feel like spending that much money right now..

I might go ahead and get the ECU.. Will I at least see about 10whp from it on average?
