Default SRS Light...Normal?

When I put the key in the ignition of my 2000 Ek Hatch the srs light stays solid for 6 seconds or so and then goes out. It doesnt beep or blink or do anything else like it used to. Is this normal or did I do something? The Ek has stock motor and everything seems to run/work fine.

completely normal, while that light is on for the 6 or 7 secs, the computer is doing a system check to make sure everything in the srs system is working right...if the light ever syats solid, then you have a problem in your srs system and your airbags will NOT work
