Default Ahhhhh pulling hair out over wheels any advice?

After months of looking I finally found a set of wheels I like (O.Z Superleggeras). Anyway I have just been told that the only size that will fit my car are the 17s something to do with the with of the stud pattern on the 97 JDM R. I dont really want to go that big because I heard the handling starts to suffer and I'am not up for that. Are any of you guys running 17s if so what is the handling like and what tyre size do you use + offset. The offset of the Supperleggeras are 40 or 42.

Any help would be great. If I find the handling sucks on 17s I shall have to start looking around again for another set of wheels (sigh)

Was it you or benmasters that is going to buy some Superleggeras? It was some time ago....
I saw some 16" on Civics. You have 4x100 wheel studs, right?

It was you who suggested I stay with 4 lugs and take a look at the superleggeras. Which I done and decided I liked the wheels. Yet everyone over here I ask give me different stories. ie offsets, sizes and all that. I am really confused now. I even emailed o.z they say that they do a 16" but didnt say weather it would fit my car. Anyway so if you saw them on a civic I assume they will fit on mine!

Sorry for being ignorant but what is the 4 by 100 actually mean??

4x100 is the bolt pattern. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/boltpatt.htm
Check if the Superleggeras have the same bolt pattern as your '96 JDM.
About the offset, just stay as close to stock (50 mm) as possible. If 42mm is the biggest, then it just effect the handling a little bit. I don't know if it's noticeable.

It's 15" and much more expensive than the 15"x7 Superleggeras.

Ianp- Seems like they don't have the 16" Superleggera. Maybe you can get the 15"x7. Super light (5 kg) and put some 205/15R15 tires on them.

Yes, because your stock rim weighs only 12 lbs. And mine is 13 lbs. The 15"x7 Superleggera is only 11 lbs.......

97 ITR wears 4x114.3 lug pattern.

You guys in Europe have best chance with Volk rims as I guess they are approved by your governemnt ****'s. Didn't Austrian-R just pick up a set for a real good price in Europe?

The Volks are not approved by TUV. OZ Superleggeras are cheap here because it's mande in Europe (Italy, I think, or is it Germany?).

haha. What happens if you get caught with illegal rims? Do they tow your car and make you pay fine for them? Euro gov't would have a field day in the US with all the crappy wheels we got.

It's different in each country in Europe. Don't know about Austria, but in Holland they don't really care about your rims......

The rims can be certified for big bucks in Germany... but they come from Italy..
I go with Racing Hart and get the certified...

Every mod my car has got normally gets no permit...... But I spend the money to stay away from jail
