i have both a y8 head and a z6 head but the z6 head has bad valves so i put the y8 head on my z6 block my ? is would there be iany diff. in the z6 cam and y8 or are the almost the same?

i have heard that but the z6 head needs a valve job and i just shelled out a lots of moeny and had the block rebuilt for boost and its not even in the car yet lol so i didnt know if the timeing on the y8 head would be off cause i thnk the y8 cam is a little more arrgesive? but i could be wrong

yea, but it's a minuscule loss at best. install a couple bolt-ons and forget about it lol

Lol oh im well aware of the small difference. You should see the pages of arguments on D-series.org on which head flows better, lol.

 

i could onnnnnly imagine. it flows better because of the "VTEC" stamped on it the valve cover hahaha.

i know one is a swril and one is a tumble flow but is there a timeing diff or should i be okay?

umm, i think you should be ok..not 100% but i dont see why not. worse case scenario...have someone drive you to autozone and rent the timing gun.

 

okay thanks i have a timing gun so when i start it up for the first time ill just stick it on there and make sure everythign is kewl, i know i didnt have to change belts or anythign cause it just fit on there well the one from my z6 and i plan on getting my z6 ported and polished, and a multi angle valve job later.
