90 hatch si jdm b16a
I have a 90 hatch si with a jdm b16a b16 cable tranny and a chipped b16 ecu. Question, is it bad to drive this car untuned? It seems to be running a little lean. Vtec engages at 5k rpm good or bad? redlines @ 8500 rpms. What tranny can i swap in instead of this cable crap i need hydro! i know an ls tranny would do how about the tranny out of the 2000 si? What do i need for the 0bd0- 0bd1 conversion?

Is this a proper basemap which is a replication of the OEM B16 maps or is this one of those "Super-JDM-Mugen" $10 deals off E-Bay?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jayponce »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">It seems to be running a little lean. </TD></TR></TABLE> How are you measuring A/F? <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jayponce »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What tranny can i swap in instead of this cable crap i need hydro!</TD></TR></TABLE> Unless you do a custom Hydraulic system install, any other transmission you install will still be activated one way or another by a cable. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jayponce »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What do i need for the 0bd0- 0bd1 conversion? </TD></TR></TABLE>

Its a tune able chip, Yea new fuel pump sounds good running the stock 90 civic pump right now.
I'm measuring air/fuel by guessing.
(puff of white smoke) the spark plugs are a bit toasted. the ngk plugs are only about 5 months old.

Get a PR3 ECU dont mess with it. It was designed by some pretty smart engineers to run that engine to the best of its ability.
I would suggest not trying to measure A/F ratio by guessing.
As far as you puff of white smoke, you might want to do a leak down/ compression tests sounds like you got some oil in the combustion chamber. I have seen valve seals leak quite often on the old b16's.

GOOD. You shouldn't own a "tuner", asking the kind of questions you have asked.
Go get a Tiburon.
