I know everyones heard this before but im gettin suckered into an ebay turbo kit
work bonus came in and was going to get lasik eye surgeory but then seen turbo kits for f23 for like $888 looks like it has everything. anyone else have experience with these kits?
get the lasek, seriously
those kits are mostly crap,
and you would still have to get some sort of real engine management; convert to obd1, get a chipped ecu, a tune, fuel injectors, fuel pump. Clutch. if you just turbo it and don't tune it or have the fuel system to support it, it's going to go BOOM
if you want to turbo, read some threads do a search don't forget the archived threads, learn as much as you can to avoid from doing things twice. It's always cheaper to spend a little more the first time than having to do it twice

oh man, no question in my mind, I would get lasik
modding your car is fun and all but glasses/contacts suck IMO (I wear contacts and want lasik)

Someone told me this a long time ago before i turbo'd my motor and it is unfortunitly TRUE !!
... but with a turbo car you can only pick 2 out of the 3.
CHEAP
FAST
RELIABLE
Without proper tunning the motor WILL blow.
This is the most important part of the forced induction process.
There are many options with fuel managmnt its just up to your budget. Personally, On my F22b2 I run a P06 with S300, but many people go with chipped/socketed ecu. It is one of the cheapest ways but not as reliable. They run anywhere from $150-$200., but then you have to get it tuned for your setup. you can either get it dyno tuned or street tuned. Street tuning usually run abt~250 while a dyno tune is ~500 (depending on the tuner of corse).
So basically at this point youve almost already doubled what u have spent just on the ebay kit.
My .02 take it or leave it but if your seriously going for a boosted ride make sure you have at lease dble what you expect to spend because **** def happens.
If reliability is your concern, kiss this dream goodbye on a $800 budget. This $800 wont cover everything needed to make this happen to your expectations, especially being that it is an ebay kit, IT WILL BREAK.
I know the desire to want some serious power behind the wheel of an Accord, it just takes a more than $800 to make it happen how your wanting it to happen.
I wear contacts too and Id go with the Lasek. Nothing sucks more than having to get up every morning and having to put on contacts to take on the day.
