Axxis brake pads
Fedex just delivered my Axxis brake pads. I noticed the box was thrashed and already opened. The pads do not say Axxis anywhere on them. The heatshrink holding them together says Quality Friction. I think I've been had. Does anyone know what these pads look like? Are these real? [IMG]

Looks like all the right packaging but hard to tell about the pads themselves.

The company is called Rotorworks. I found them on Ebay and paid Paypal. http://www.rotorworks.com 14371 Euclid St. Unit #2A Garden Grove, Ca. 92843
714-554-7320. I e-mailed some nasty words to the tune of give my expletiveing money back you scamming piece of ****. I also contacted Quality Friction, the name on the shrink wrap to see if these are genuine. I should have waited to send that e-mail, but I am pretty convinced I'm a victim of the bait and switch.

You might have gotten PBR ultimates (same stuff) but I think unbranded on the pad itself. I had a set of these before too that I ordered from 88rotors. It's the same thing and it was wrapped in that same plastic with blue writing.

"Rotorworks Inc. is a helicopter flight training school located in Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada"

Ha! Ain't that some ****. Their link doesn't work. I just got off the phone with the manager there, she claims that she just opened 15 boxes and they all look the same! Then she goes into her sale pitch about how good the brakes work...........
They gave me the number of their supplier, Centric Parts, and I talked to their technical support. He tells me that Axxis does not imprint their name on their pads, rather the name of the type of pad. Ultimate in this case. Also, Axxis is the only company who uses a shim that resembles black duct tape on the back. He admitted that the genuine part does look "cheap" and assures me that mine are real. But tell me, how hard is it to print "ultimate" on a pad and put duct tape on the back?

PBR and Axxis are had the same pad, they are all the same.
the duct taped back is the molded in SHIM, it's that way so you dont have to use the oem shim on the new pad. if you look close enough it's not tape, it's some sort of resin or epoxy.

If they are PBR pads, why don't they say PBR on them? Why are they in an Axxis box? Their so called technical support could have been their employee sitting in a call room telling everyone "It's OK I assure you they're real, or my name isn't John Smith."
I don't think you can copyright the word ULTIMATE, but that is the only marking that leaves an inkling of optimism. They go on tonight, wish me luck!

my pbr pad doesn't have a logo on them at all, and i am sure they are real.
pbr and axxis pad are the same, so they can be sold in axxis and pbr package, out contract is common industry practive, your spoon brand is make by nissin which also make your oem caliper. it just easier for the them to print a isbn/code on the product and ship to different company for package/retail.
like i said, i recall the back of my REAL pbr pad has some number and writing on back, look for white/silver silk screen print on it.
from the look of thing, they look legit.(if you all look closely to the picture you can see the number on the shim)
***no way to know unless you call the MFG(axxis and pbr), you know their number and call them, don't put them on and bitch on h-t about it

</TD></TR></TABLE> I called, and I'm not bitching. I ordered Axxis and got PBR(possibly). That is my situation. I am asking for prior experience, not life guidance. Anyways, the pads are on and work fine. They are PBR's or a good imitation. The box and the pads do not match. This should be clarified in their ad.

Those pads look authentic to me. PBR and Axxis pads are also 100% identical. The only difference is the box. Every single thing, including the shrink wrap as you see in the pictures, is the same. All the shrink wrap on these pads says that. It's normal. You didn't get ripped off.

Glad to hear at least it all worked out for you in the end ... ebay is a dangerous thing unless you buy from the right people. I have been done on ebay before, went through paypal and they sorted everything out and got me the money back.
