Bent valves?
Ok guys, I need some help. I live out in the sticks, so I had my 89 honda civic taken to the local garage, because I thought that I was having issues with my starter. This is not a garage that regulary works on Hondas.
My husband had left the lights on and killed the battery. I replaced the battery and it still wouldn't start. When I turned the key, the started would start spinning, but wouldn't turn the engine over. It would just spin the starter. I just spoke to the mechanic who said that the starter, flywheel, and timing belt are fine. He said that it acts like there is no compression. He has that he can get the engine to start by adding air and that usually something like this would point towards bent valves, but he's checked and the valves seem to be just fine. He's stumped, but said that he's going to keep trying to figure it out. Anyone have any suggestions?
