im having some issues with burning coolant somehow. the problem started about a month ago, i started my car one morning and it ran sluggish for a minute and puffed out white smoke. it has been blowing white smoke on and off since then and tonight the idle started to fluctuate(low coolant). it never overheats and doesn't blow smoke constantly but im starting to worry.
yeah, the head gaskets on the EFs were made of cardboard. I've had many many EFs and its a common problem. get the head checked for warpage, and put it back together with a HG for a 92-up D series. Now's a good time to get the valve stem seals replaced and get a valve job done. Or just do a swap. Good luck!

well i just checked for coolant in the oil and couldnt find any mixing. i did notice that the oil level has dropped and this motor has never burned or leaked a drop of oil. its a SOHC ZC BTW.
run the car with rad cap off, bubbling in the coolant is a good indication head gasket is gone or going EDIT: wouldnt hurt to get the rad pressure tested
