Yes this is another car wont start question, and I have done the research but nothing that i came across here covers my question.
My 99 Civic Ex (owned for 2 years & running flawlessly) did not want to start this morning. It is ALL stock no mods.
Car will NOT turn over, Battery is fine, and there is no clicking sound of any sort. When I turn the key it simply stays SILENT. NO Check Engine, however when I leave the key in the otherwise on position, the 'Oil' light stays lit. But I checked the oil and it is nearly full. It is not close to an oil change as I changed it 1 &1/2 months ago. I do it like clockwork and run Mobile 1 synthetic. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Check the connectivity between the battery terminals and the cables. Go you hear the fuel pump prime when the ign. is turned to position 2? If not, might be a main relay...

 

check if fuel pump primes.if not check on starter, hot wire it and hear if it clicks and turns. if not. your find your problem
and if starter is good.. slightly tap on your main relay while starting the car.

 

Thanks for the advice fellas, I will do the steps and check, I will post in a bit to report in. Hopefully I will be able to find out what it is.

 

This isn't as likely as a bad main relay, but the ignition switch in the steering column is also a possible source of failure that will prevent a fuel pump from priming or the starter from engaging.

 

Thanks again for all the advice. Very odd because when I went to turn it on again it started up as sound and usual as it usually does. But you guys advice was great because i do NOT recall hearing the fuel pump prime up at the time when this happened. I am going to take a closer look at things this weekend, it is just better to prepare ahead before to prevent being stranded. Thanks again for all the advice.
