Motor Swap Help??????
I have a 93 del sol and jus wnted to know if someone on here could tell me if a B18C TYP R would fit...cause a few people told me tht engine was for a 96 and up???
It will fit, With the correct mounts. All USDM type R's are OBDII. Which in fact are 96 and up.
That has nothing to do with fitment.
Search on Mounts/axles/ECU.
You will need shift linkage from the DElsol VTEC.

it doesnt matter what obd it is. that is not relevent with fitment. they probably said that because you have to cahnge your car from obd-1 to obd-2 and you have to trade mounts, shift linkage, axles, tranny, ecu, and wiring harness. there is alot of stuff to change but yes it will fit and has been done thousands of times. lol
yeah like he said ecu shift linkage sometimes rear motormount from what ive heard axles too and if your goin from non v tec to v tec
so the harness you might have to do and they cost about 100 bucks from a dealership i gotta a ls v in my hatchback and i had to do alot of re wiring

The Type R is actually a very nice swap for the Del Sol.
The fitment will not be an issue with the proper mounts, you will need to replace
Motor, trans, ECU, axles, shiftlinkage, a few brackets, and convert the OBD2 engine to OBD1 with using jumper harness or seperate supplied parts converting the engine over to the older platform.
