spark tube oil leak.. looking at gasket sets.
I know oil is leaking into the spark plug chamber.. the plugs are soaked in oil. I am planning on doing a valve adjustment as well, so i figured i might as well replace the gaskets to stop the oil leak.
Is there any possible way to tell if the lower ones are the problem or what?
this is also the kit im looking at getting.

idk how long i'll have this head on.. but i would like to not have to worry about the oil leak while it is on. I suppose i should just bite the bullet and do them all.
yea it cost me like 5 bucks a seal at the dealer a few years ago for the lower seals.. just buy a valve cover gasket kit.. we ordereed one at the shop i work at and it actually came with the lower seals.. i saved them because they werent leaking on the car we were working on now mine area craping out again.. good thing i saved those
Yeah, might as well since you have the valve cover off. It takes about another hour to get the cam off and such. Not too terrible, but its a little bit of a hassle so set some time for it.
And if you're thinking about just doing the upper seals and have it be cool, you're going to end up taking it all apart AGAIN to do it correctly. DO IT NOW!!!

When olil leaks in spark plug well, it is most likely the lower o-ring went bad. When replacing the lower o-ring, you will have to readjust the valve cleanrance. If you plan to do the valve adjustment and you have oil leak in spark plug well, I will recommed you replace the lower o-ring at same time.
When replacing the lower seal, you can only position the Rocket Arm in one way and can not move it around. However, you have to loose the valve adjustment screws to put the Rocket Arm on. That is why you will have to do the valve adjustment when replacing the lower o-rings.
