How can I make it faster?
Just bought my first Honda, a 2001 ex 4 cyl. and I really dont know a whole lot about these rides.
Whats the best/smartest way to spend 2k on performance? I don't plan on spening more than that until next year maybe.
Thanks

They don't respond well to it.
Motor swap
or
Handling/Suspension
- better suspension
- lightweight wheels
- better tires
etc

Did you not read my post at all?
I/H/E the motors do not respond well for the money.
Perfectionist is being a retard.
For $2k you can easily get top of the line suspension (like GC/Koni Yellow), sway bars, bushings, etc.
Or get better wheels (lighter) tires (more grip) + suspension stuff

I read it, and thanks for the info. I'll definitly check out what is out ther. Suspension is something I want to do eventually so that may be the starting point. I just got done with winter mods on the Vette so now its the Hondas turn. Gotta love the car hobby!!

Believe me for Honda/Acura there really isn't "instant power" like you can get on other cars.
The stock blocks hold up well to a turbo , but $2k would be pushing it and it would be pointless with crap tires/wheels and OEM suspension.
Honestly the best thing to do first is get handling 100% taken care of then worry about speed.

Imo what do you plan this car to be a daily or something just to play around with, I agree with MM suspension makes the car alot more fun to drive and is a good starting point. I used to have a truck and once I got my first honda I was never done with it!

We'll get the wheels out of the way, I'll get whatever wheels looks best and is a high quality wheel, tire too. that was planned from the get go. And keep the stock wheels for winter. Yes its my daily driver, I have two other sunny day cars and thats enough for now. So being my dd, what suspension set-up works well on my year? On one car of mine I run bilsteins/hotchkis and stiffer springs.....how do the accords work?
I appreciate the input

SOB....couldnt of said it any better myself....muffin quite taking all the spotlight
LOL j/k
Yeah man on my Time Attack CRX I've gotten my Koni Race struts revalved for a 600f/800R GC setup....22mm Progress swaybar up front....Si rear swaybar....Front Tein Upper Pillowball mounts....Megan Strut Towerbars FU FL RU RL....SPC Rear lower control arms / Four corner SPC camber kits....Replaced the bushings in my Trailing arms....Konig Feather 16x7's with 205/40 R16 Nitto Neogens....and got a solid alignment....it handles TIGHT!
Now for starters this is quite a bit invested as this is my weekend track car....but my number 1 reason for suspension upgrades is Safety....next reason would be for performance....but stiffening up your stock suspension could help you avoid an accident....but the place to dump 2k into your accord would definitly be in suspension....Go koni sport/GC - for you I'd run like 250F/300R for a low dollar tight street setup.

Muffinman, how much boost could I run on a stock F22A4 block without destroying the engine? Better yet, can I run Nitrous on the stock F22A4 block and how much can I run? I got 226,000 miles on the F22A4 in a 1991 Honda Accord. I am looking for ways to get better performance without killing the engine.

Honestly there's too many variables for me to say "X PSI + X shot of Nitrous and you'll be good"
The first thing before considering a turbo/supercharger/nitrous/anything performance is make sure the motor is running in tip top condition.
At your mileage I'd certainly skip out on nitrous.
Turbo would be a possibility but I'd recommend a complete engine overhaul before hand (tbelt/wpump/compression test/new seals/gaskets/you name it)
Assuming you have good compression and everything checks out great , then go on to turbo.
You can look around in the Forced Induction forum area down a ways on the main page and I believe there's a "F22 boosted" thread with people's setups.
I'm personally not boosted so I don't want to tell you anything incorrect.
