Default what to check on a USED Jackson Racing Supercharger BEFORE BUYING???

I am looking at buying a USED Jackson Racing Supercharger for my GSR. Is there anything I should look for / test to determine the condition and quality of the unit?

Any tips I should know before I buy a used one?

Go to superchargers.com and download their parts list and compare with the one you are buying. Have the seller provide you with pictures of the supercharger. Ask how many miles they have used it. You can also call Moss motors and ask them questions, so far they have been really helpful. If the seller is gonna ship the supercharger, make sure he does not use popcorn or make sure he plugs all the holes to prevent the popcorn from entering the intake. My seller did that and I had to take the supercharger apart to clean out all the popcorn, what a pain in the ***. Good Luck!!!

I am buying it from a guy I work with luckily. I just met him last week, but its always nicer to buy something I can see and touch first.

He is asking $1500 for the complete kit with ECU chiped and tuned with Crome Pro, 440cc DSM OBD1 Injectors.

I dont need the ECU or injectors. I'm thinking the most I would pay is $1000.

I just wanna know if there is anyway to see test it for shaft play like you can turbo's.

I actaully got a used one myself and I downloaded the parts list to see what I'm missing which is minimal. I spun the pulley to see if the shaft inside spun good and made sure it didn't click, or bang itself or rub, anything of that nature. make sure there isn't any play in the pulley.

Basically, look at the blower. make sure the blades are in good condition, no nicks or chips or coating being peeled off. if the coating is peeling, that usually means the blower got really hot and/or scraped the walls of the casing. spin the blower by hand and make sure it spins smoothly.

check the idler pulleys and make sure they are in good condition and spin freely as well.. and check the manifold for any cracks.

Bumping this thread because I have the same question and the answers given seem....too simple.

I want to make sure this answer is a complete answer.
1. Turn the pulley by hand and check for damaged blades or any noises?
2. Download parts list to check for a complete kit?

I know with turbo's its almost mandatory to rebuild them if purchasing used, it it the same deal with super chargers?

thanks

Also if there is damage to one of the impellers, can it be tolerated so long as there isn't noise? Can it be machined?

I imagine most people would say to move on but suppose it could be had for a good price?
