90 dx d15b turbo questions?

90 dx d15b turbo questions?
alright my friend just bought a 90 civic hatch with a d15b turbo swap its done right with injectors and converted to obd1(p28,tuned etc)
1. it is internally waste gated but there is no waste gate actuator instead there is a spring that runs to the flapper, i have never seen this and i was wondering if anyone else has.(if you want pics let me know)
2. also he has a check engine light on and i wanted to check the code. but its a obd0 converted to obd1 so how exactly am i supose to do that?
any advice will be appreciated

</TD></TR></TABLE> The same way you check codes on any OBD-1 Car, jump the service connector, count MIL flashes.
