Default Carbon deposits in pistons and valves!

What causes this? Lean or rich mixtures? Car feels slughish, feather the pedal and car runs great and picks up speed fine, smash on it and car stumbles and feels slughish! BOGS! WTF? Happened a year ago hitting 8K plus RPM's on L.A. freeway, 2000 Civic Si stock B16, input is highly appreciated! Clogged injectors, fuel filter or fuel rail?

Every. Day. Usage.

Unless you're using the Chevron gas w/techron cleaning crap, then its normal. The deposites are partially burnt gas, the burnt lube that's in gasoline, and any other crap that makes it past the pump's screen, main fuel filter, and injector screens.

If you're pushing 25% HP over stock, its always a good idea to run stuff like Techron to clean the fuel system. Its shown to be almost as good as proper injector cleaning, and will loosen & remove most buildup past the injectors.
