What's the best way to get more power out of this engine, other than doing an engine swap. Ultimately I want to do a H22 engine swap, but for now what are some of my options to getting the most power out of this engine?

 

You Can Swap the Head for a VTEC head and gain a bit of power...OR build the block for turbo. but cheap way is to swap the head for a Z6 head.

 

You can do what ^ said, but if you want to add some power to the b7, you could put a d16a6 cam with a d16y7/y8 cam gear, d16z6 intake manifold, and basic bolt ons (I/H/E).

 

Where is the best place to look for a Z6 head and how much do you think it might cost?

 

try your local junkyard, I would suggest if you do this that you take it to a machine shop

 

If you're saving for an H22 swap, I'd just leave this motor alone and not waste money on it.

That's what I would do at least. No use in spending money on mods on a SOHC and still be slow.
