b16a2 swap into 98 hb question
im doing a b16a2 swap into my 98 dx hatch. i was told that the driver side bracket mount of the motor needs to be changed because the two bolts that stick up are spaced differently?? anyone ever heard of this or did a similar swap that needed this changed?

get a rear tranny bracket from a 94+ integra/99-00 si
also, as for the little tranny bracket on the passenger side, you can use any 5speed 96-00 d-series bracket.
the driver side mount....im pretty sure you can use one from a 99-00 si....but since its a 98 im not sure.
well since the engine is already out, why dont you just get yourself a set of hasport or innovative mounts?

those guys are correct.
go with hasport mounts.they are the best mounts.and u will need the 99-00 civic si throttle cable. and shift linkage and both cv axles.

you need the timing belt bracket that bolts to the block and a rear t bracket all from a 99-00civic si.
YOU CANNOT USE THE INTEGRA REAR T BRACKET
you also need the front tranny bracket that can be used from a 99-00 civic si.
and if you ant to keep your a/c the you also need the a/c bracket from an integra or del sol with a b16

throttle cable...really?
when i did my b16 swap into my 99 ej8 i didnt have to use an si throttle cable...i also just used a 98 ej8 coupe shift linkage (since i converted to 5 speed) and it works fine...but since its a hatch i dont know...but im pretty sure you could still get away with any 96-98 ek hatch shift linkage.
and yeah, crazy guy is correct about the axles, you'll need any 94+ integra axles/99-00 si axles.

The rear mount needs to come from a 99-00 Si. The teg one won't work in an EK, only an EG. You'll also need a front tranny mount from either an EM1 or DC2.
Both OEM side mounts can be reused.

oh...didnt know that about the rear t bracket...just something i read. (i did use a 99-00 si bracket lol)
and dont forget about the wiring harness and the ecu!
use a 96-98 d16y8 5speed harness (cuz vtec is already wired in!) and use either a p2t/chipped p28/p30 (witha jumper harness ofcourse)
i'd tell you to use an em1 wiring harness but since your car is 98 and its obd2a and em1's are obd2b...im not so sure that will work.

Re: (jasony0630)
ok, i pretty much know all of what you guys said but no one answered my question... i have all of the mounts off the EM1 Si already. rear t bracket, tranny mount, torque mounts and even driver side mount. But did anyone ever encounter changing the bracket mount thats bolted onto the motor with the 2 bolts that stick up. A buddy of mine said they changed it to an integra one or something .. anyone?

Re: (EKbeast)
B16A2s are from Si's. You dont need that driver/upper bracket to swap into an "EK" or "EG".
If you have a 2 prong bracket like the one shown in the pic, it bolts right onto your chassis bracket that then bolts onto the rubber mount.
The integra has a 3 prong bracket. You'd have to switch that out if you had that.
You basically need mounts from an Si to make it simple. You can use DC integra AC mounts, and trans mounts/brackets or Si parts. Either or. The only thing you HAVE TO HAVE from an Si is the rear T bracket.
