Default Can you get the S2000 in auto?

jk - now that i have your attention - i would love your opinion on the following:

I have been looking to replace my exhaust (cat back) for some time. But given my criteria (a deeper slightly louder sound - not too loud, not too expensive, and retain the dual exit) it seems that the HKS is the winner. But i got to thinking - is it worth shelling out a grand (NZ) just to achieve a different sound?
I found these: http://www.modacar.com/product....html

would this give a similar sound to the HKS system? anyone tried them or heard them?

All (most) opinions appreciated..

Cheers, Dave.

No its not. Its gonna be a single=very loud. If you want slightly louder but not too loud. then do the HKS dual.

i'd be putting 2 mufflers on - i assumed they would be attached just behind the existing mufflers. i certainly want dual exit, so this was the plan.

it still wont have the big resonator like the real HKS and will be much louder still. Why don't you just get the HKS? You can get a good condition used for 500 or so.

i think you are right - that's probably the way to go - there's a real cool company here that can get me one, but it's way over the budget at the moment, so was just toying with ideas. am also trying to get a price from a US company (xlevelonline) including shipping to NZ. 500 used would be sweeet - just tricky with the 'getting it shipped to New Zealand' thing...

Cut out your resonator, or get a test pipe.

i just got the Tenabe cat-back and i like it. It's quiet at idle and moderate in the higher rpm ranges. I could have the resonater removed and it would get louder but keep the low tone. Mine costed 700.00

since you don't want to spend the cash just to gain sound, just buy 2 QUALITY mufflers w/ a tip on the small side. 4" tip will be loud. You will probally make 2hp with the catback so just get the mufflers.
PLEASE do not take out the cat and polute the enviroment to gain 1/2hp

the hks for the s2000 makes you lose power. Do alot of research on the exhaust that you buy, because a lot of them hurt the performnace. I had a hks and hated it. Look into more jdm exhausts - amuse, spoon, mugen. Though they are all high, but they all work.

hmm, i think just the mufflers may be the way to go - have found a couple of nice ones that shouldn't be too loud or raspy.
Sorry, cat's already out - best bang for buck mod out there. 1/2hp is a huge understatement.
