My temperature gauge isnt working on my 95 civic 1.6. Where should i go about trouble shooting? There are no CEL's. Could it be the coolant temperature sensor?, or the gauge cluster? Can i buy an aftermarket gauge? And is there a wire/ plug that i can look for that might not be plugged in, or accidently cut or something? Sorry for all of the questions.

the two on the head are for coolant temperature sensor: the round one is for sending signal to the ECU, the spark plug looking one is for signal to the gauge cluster. The two prong round sensor on the thermostat housing is the fan switch.

So check em out, Both might be bad

 

So i found one next to the upper radiator hose, is that the one that goes to the gauge cluster? because there is no wire leading off that. I can take a picture too.

yo its the spark plug looking one for the cluster cuz my **** was not working and i just put a new one in a lil bit ago and know it works

 

I'm assuming it's the one right above the radiator hose that goes to the cluster. Where can i find the wire that's supposed to run to the cluster? Mine has been chopped or is somewhere.

That is the bleeder nipple right next to the hose, I believe the coolant temperature sensor is the one below that in focus.

 

and that is the one that goes to my gauge cluster? If it helps at all, my spedo/ odo stopped working as well just today, my gas gauge still works though, could it be a dying cluster?

lol, yea, i'd say probably so. Just go to the junkyard and grab you a gauge cluster out of any eg. prefferably an lx or ex, since the dx doesn't have a tach on it. but i would say your cluster is going bad. They are like $80 at a junkyard. give or take
