Default Question about B16A Specs

1992-1995 JDM Honda Civic SiRII (EG6/EG9)
Displacement: 1595 cc
Compression: 10.4:1
Power: 170 hp (130 kW) @ 7800 rpm & 116 ft·lbf (157 N·m) @ 7300 rpm
Transmission: S4C

JDM B16A SiR2 Hydro 170HP

Engine/Trans/ECU/Axles - $2,800.00
LSD add - $400 DOHC VTEC 4 Cylinder 16 Valve
• Hydraulic Transmission
• Redline: 8200 rpm
• Diplacement: 1595cc
• Torque: 116 lb-ft@7300
• Horse Power: 170hp@7800
• Compression Ratio: 10.4:1
• P30 OBD-1 or OBD-2 ECU equipped.

My question is i found this information and whats bothering me is one says the redline is 8200 RPM , and the other is 7300 RPM


WTF????

Max hp is @ 7800
Max tq is @ 7300

Your redline is @ 8200

its saying that the redline is at 8200rpm and the max torque is at 7300rpm

Meaning ..... i could take it to around 8200 RPM when shifting and would be normal procedure

Redlining a motor isn't really "normal procedure". You could take it up to 8200, but why... because you think other people see it as cool?

There is a reason why it says "max hp". Nothing spectacular is going to happen after 7800 rpm... not with a stock engine and a stock ecu map.

you need to get dynoed so you can see whre it stops making power. but its pretty much right on. 7700-7800 for a stock b16. with some cams you can move it up.

Wow you shift at 8200 rpm so you can land in the sweet spot in the next gear. You shift at 7300-7800 im beting your going to fall out of vtec when shifting to the next gear thats why you take it to redline.
